Worldwide expertise

ESAF (which stands for the French Chick Sexing Co) is one of the main chick sexing companies in Europe. Its founder, Hiroshi Maruta, has been living in France since 1968 and has developped ESAF into a provider recognised for its quality by some of the biggest names in the poultry hatchery industry from France to Germany, Spain and as far afield as China and Canada.

Solid growth
Originally founded as an individual business, ESAF now employs 40 peoople. In 2003, ESAF sexers worked on over 50 million chicks. Sales growed up 14% compared with 2002.

The Founder

Hiroshi Maruta learnt the art of chick sexing in Japan where he was born in 1946. He then went abroad to practice his trade and eventually settled in France in 1968. His demanding standards and tireless work with major French hatcheries for over 30 years make him one of the best recognised chick sexing specialists in Europe.
